After an action-filled, intensely fun 11 seasons, FOX's hit police procedural drama TV series "Bones" is now slated to come back to the screen with its highly anticipated season 12.
The 12th season, which will serve as the series finale, is scheduled to premiere on Jan. 3, 2017, a report said. While there's still so many weeks to wait for the fans to find out what's in store in the new installment, details have been popping out lately indicating who's coming back and who's not.
The latest that has been heard said that Stephen Fry has signed up to reappear in the show's last run as his character Gordon Wyatt. TVLine went on to tease that the retired forensic psychiatrist will make his way into the small screens once again during the ninth episode of season 12.
The English actor joined the series back in season 2 during which an incident tied him up with Booth Seeley (David Boreanaz). The two remained friends since then. Wyatt opted to retire to put focus on his other passion – cooking back in season 5.
Fry will be joining the list of the fan-favorite names heading over toward the season aptly subtitled "The Final Chapter." Last month, TVLine also announced that the screen living legend Betty White will also be heading back to the Jeffersonian team headquarters as her character Dr. Beth Mayer – the "world renowned forensic anthropologist" and a close friend of Emily Deschannel's Brennan.
The elderly scientist will reportedly reappear in the 10th episode of season 12 to be a guiding beacon for the crime lab constituents. It remains to be seen though what kind of troubles the crew will get into this time but it's probably worth Dr. Mayer's effort.
"Bones" season 12 is also expected to see a happily ever after for Brennan and Booth.
Watch out for more updates.
