Gamers all over the world are anticipating the arrival of "Dark Souls III's" upcoming downloadable content (DLC), "Ashes of Ariandel." To maintain the anticipation, game publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware released the title's first-ever trailer.
The video shows that the game has a three-on-three, player-versus-player (PVP) mode, which players have been talking about ever since they saw a glimpse of the trailer. This means more hours of gameplay will be added to the already action-packed game.
Along with the three-on-three gameplay is a new PVP map called "Hollow Arena," which is described as a slanted map that carries several structures. The structures can be used by players to take cover or hide while playing the PVP matches.
Polygon noted that the video also shows characters appearing in the matches, and are wearing crowns. This may imply that costume rewards may be available if a player wins a match. Fortunately, it becomes easier for the players go into battles as they can already fill their Estus Flask more quickly than before. For those asking, Estus Flask restores hit points and so it should be completely full before engaging into a battle.
"Ashes of Ariandel" will also include new magic spells, bosses and other items that players can use while playing the game.
"Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel" is scheduled to appear in the gaming world on Oct. 25, 2016. It is one of the two DLCs to be released by Bandai Namco. The other one is set to be launched next year.
Players who obtained the season pass can get the DLC for free as soon as it comes out. Players who want to purchase the title alone can get it at a $15 price tag. A preorder is already available on the "Dark Souls III" website. Those who want to get the season pass would need to prepare $25.
