Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date, rumored specs, news: Next-gen device to rival Apple's MacBook Pro 2016

(Microsoft)The second generation of Microsoft Surface Book might get unveiled this year.

One of the very few, certain things about Microsoft Inc. is that it always ensures that its products and devices get on top no matter how dire the situation maybe. There is a verifiable reason why the company still remains at the top of its game after all these years — and it has nothing to do with its branding only. This one can be sourced back to its durable and highly-advanced iterations and services.

Of course, the company is also unashamed when it comes to marketing its products rather aggressively. Its blatant tirades against its fiercest rival Apple Inc. is a case in point. It is not only fun but it also showcases the company's determined approach in winning the competition.

This rings true for the firm's upcoming entry in its favorited Microsoft Surface Book lineup, the Microsoft Surface Book 2. Right after the Cupertino-based firm has announced its intention to launch its latest offering in its MacBook Pro lineup, the company has confirmed too in a rather big way about its Microsoft Surface Book 2.

Rumor has it that the forthcoming iteration will get unveiled anytime this month or on or before the end of this year, a scheduling that is not foreign to Apple's MacBook Pro launching. Release date aside, Microsoft Surface Book 2 and MacBook Pro 2016 are also sharing some specifications.

Both will be including a 4K resolution feature while the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is touted to have the seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake processor, which has also taken an inspiration from Apple's MacBook Pro 2016.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to feature NVIDIA graphics chip and a pen and touch support. Meanwhile, the device's battery is also en route to be upgraded to an almighty 8 hours of usage. Furthermore, the laptop will be sporting a mini display port and two USB 3.0 ports.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 is likewise expected to run the latest Windows 10 OS when it is launched.
