There is high anticipation for the upcoming season of "Rick and Morty" as it has been a while since the release of the previous season.
Fortunately, the writers of the new season Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe were able to share some insights into the creative process. During a podcast called "Chicks Who Script," details were revealed about season 3 of the hit animated series.
Fans will be happy to hear that the third season of the series is close to being done. It was revealed that the team will soon be heading back to the animation studio in order to be screened. With that, there has yet to be any news on when the season will release.
The writers explained that there is a lot in store for the season ahead since they had such an intensive writing process. Carbiener said, "You learn so much on that show, because they fit 20 pounds of story in a five pound bag. On other shows what would be an entire episode will be the first two or three minutes. So you have to learn how to come up with a lot of story, fast, and how to make it all turn and tie up right."
Though they did not say much about what the season will bring, they teased that there will be a lot of sci-fi involved. Rosbe added, "And work with sci-fi tropes, but find a completely unique thing that no Star Trek episode has ever done in the history of time kind of thing. So it was constantly twisting, twisting, twisting everything."
With that, they teased that the season will be influenced by 70s sci-fi movies, such as "Logan's Run." This will surely bring some interesting elements to the series.
Fans can expect to see the third season of "Rick and Morty" by the end of the year.
