Is masturbation gay sex? Christian preacher says men are basically having sex with themselves

A Christian preacher who has a significant following on his "Pass the Salt" live stream recently drew controversy for saying that masturbation is akin to gay sex. Former high school coach Dave Daubenmire equated masturbation to homosexuality and declared that the behavior is wrong.

In a full-hour video post, Daubenmire blamed the pornography for kids becoming sexually deviant. He also said that homosexuals have an agenda and that parents, including grandparents, have to keep watch over the kids who could likely be recruited to their agenda.

"You're having sex with a man. You get it?" the internet preacher said in the video. "Now, you put images of a woman in your mind, but you're having sex with a man," he added and said, "It's where the Devil will take us if we give him free range in our minds."

It's not the first statement that Daubenmire has unleashed against homosexuals. In 2013, the man known as Coach Dave also said that anti-bullying drives are aimed at those who criticize the gay lifestyle. In his understanding, Christians who speak against homosexuals by trying to uphold Christian values are actually the ones who end up being bullied the most when they are prevented from talking against gay people.

Daubenmire was fired from his job as a football coach because he forced his football players to pray, passed Bible verses and invited ministers to preach during practices and team meetings. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued the former teacher when he violated the separation of church and state cited in the First Amendment. The case ended up in a settlement.

Meanwhile, he launched "Pass the Salt" to defend his Judeo-Christian beliefs. He said on his official site that he wants to challenge the church status quo and thus, won't back down from articulating his views. At one point, Daubenmire also ran for Congress but failed to win in the elections.
