Samsung Gear S3 release date, news: Preorders now open in US, Europe, Australia

(Samsung)Samsung Gear S3 Frontier with 4G LTE connectivity is now ready for pre-orders in the U.S. through AT&T.

As the release date of the newest Samsung smartwatch approaches, several preorder options are now available in the United States through AT&T (and soon in T-Mobile), in Europe and in Australia.

U.S. preorders through carriers

In the United States, one of the largest telecommunication network AT&T has announced its preorder offer. However, of the two Samsung Gear S3 design, AT&T will only offer the Frontier model.

Rival Apple Watch Series 2 is equipped with an independent global positioning system (GPS), which makes it possible for runners to track their progress even without carrying their phones. Well, Gear S3 might not have its own GPS but its Frontier design is equipped with its own 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) connection, which makes it work just the same.

Even better, the independent 4G LTE does not just enable independent tracking, but it also enables its user to communicate with just the watch. This feature is being utilized by AT&T as written on its Gear S3 Frontier preorder page, "With AT&T NumberSync you can make and receive calls and texts using your smartphone number."

Preorder price with AT&T starts at $250. About its availability, AT&T says, "For continental U.S. orders, we will ship your item via overnight delivery." And the expected shipping date is on Nov. 18.

On the other hand, another major U.S. carrier T-Mobile has also posted a preorder page for Gear S3 Frontier, however, not many details are in there yet except for the message that says, "Coming Soon!"

Verizon is yet to post its own preorder offer for Samsung Gear S3.

Europe and Australia preorders

On the other parts of the world, buyers in Europe will have to pay a higher amount for both the Gear S3 Classic and Frontier. Reports mention that the 4G-enabled smartwatch will be sold in Europe with the price tag of €399 or around $442. Preorders for European market can be done through Amazon, however, there is no shipping date mentioned yet.

For the Australian market, preorders of Gear S3 can be done through Harvey Norman, Samsung Experience Stores, and Samsung's online store.
