Kathleen Snow, Worldwide President of Mothers’ Union, is undertaking 15 ten-kilometer (6.2-mile) runs in countries around the world to mark the Christian charity’s 150th anniversary in 2026.

Snow aims to raise funds and awareness for the work of Mothers’ Union through her fitness challenge, the Anglican Communion News Service reported .

She plans to complete the runs in dioceses where Mothers’ Union is active. So far, she has completed runs in her hometown of Fredericton, Canada (Jan. 22); in Bahrain (Feb. 6) during the Diocesan Synod of Cyprus and the Gulf; and most recently in the Diocese of London (Feb. 10).

Her latest run began and ended at the charity’s headquarters, Mary Sumner House in Westminster, London, with dedicated staff reportedly cheering her from start to finish.

“As I attended the Diocesan Synod in Bahrain, it felt deeply meaningful to include this place in the challenge,” Snow said on the day of her run in Bahrain, as reported by Mothers’ Union.

“Running becomes a way of praying with my whole body; praying for the local Mothers’ Union and their work, the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, the wider Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, and for all whom we are called to serve.”

A member of Mothers’ Union since 1988, Snow was elected Worldwide President for the 2025–2027 term. She also chairs the Board of Trustees and represents the organization globally, bringing experience from parish ministry to worldwide leadership.

“Over the coming months, I plan to complete 15 10K runs in dioceses across the UK, North America, Africa, and beyond, including London, Wales, San Diego, Durban, and Tanzania, making the challenge a truly global expression of solidarity and celebration,” Snow wrote on a JustGiving fundraising page.

“This challenge is about honoring 150 years of faith in action. Running in different dioceses while traveling for ministry reflects the global fellowship that sustains our work and reminds us that wherever we are in the world, we are connected.”

Mothers’ Union has more than four million members in 84 countries and is committed to “promoting stable family life, nurturing faith, and working toward a society where everyone can thrive.”

The charity is recognized as one of the first charitable organizations led by women, having been founded in 1876 by Mary Sumner, the wife of a Hampshire rector in England.

The organization supports mothers from all backgrounds by connecting Anglican churches with local communities. Through practical projects, prayer, and advocacy, it works to strengthen family life, reduce poverty and injustice, and help end violence.
