Grammy-winning vocalist Kaya Jones will release her debut Christian album, The Royal Collection, on Saturday, marking a new chapter in her musical and spiritual journey from pop stardom to gospel artist.
Jones, formerly a member of the Pussycat Dolls, describes the 15-track album as a reflection of faith and identity, shaped during a difficult period in her life. “Everything tells us we are not good enough. That’s a lie from the pit of hell,” Jones said in a statement. “Remember how special he made you and never forget it, you’re perfect the way He made you.”
The album incorporates charity initiatives alongside its uplifting lyrics. The track “Treasured,” released earlier this year, serves as the title song for a forthcoming docuseries highlighting the lives of people living in Ethiopia’s Korah landfill. Other songs have been released as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to raise funds for homeless individuals in Orlando and humanitarian projects in the Middle East.
One notable collaboration on the album, the song “Jerusalem,” features Jones alongside Lebanese vocalist Carine Bassili, Shai Sol, and Ronza Nwesry. Singing in English, Arabic, and Hebrew, the artists present a musical prayer for peace based on Psalm 122. Jones also teamed up with rapper Bryson Gray on a new rendition of “Yeshua,” and Petra guitarist Kevin Brandow contributes to the album.
A livestream release party is planned for noon Saturday, accessible via Jones’ social media channels on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X. The event will include behind-the-scenes stories and appearances by special guests.
The album follows Jones’ Grammy-winning collaboration with gospel singer Jason Crabb in 2019 for “Let It Be Love.” In addition to her music, Jones recently launched Blessed, a podcast on her Shiloah.tv streaming platform.
Jones, born Chrystal Neria in Toronto, rose to fame as a teenager signed to Capitol Records and later as a member of the Pussycat Dolls. She left the group in 2005 to pursue a solo career. Since then, she has performed for U.S. troops, advocated for causes such as human trafficking awareness and military family support, and shared openly about her personal experiences, including her past in the music industry and her views on abortion.
In recent years, Jones has deepened her religious engagement, enrolling in Hebrew Bible school, recording the prayer The Shema and performing at major Christian events.
