Christian artist Forrest Frank fractures back in skateboarding accident, writes viral worship song from bed

Forrest Frank, the Christian singer behind hits like “Good Day,” “UP!” and “Your Way’s Better,” suffered multiple back fractures in a skateboarding accident last week — but turned his painful setback into a moment of praise that’s resonating widely online.

“Two days ago, I fractured my L3 and L4,” the 30-year-old artist shared in a social media post over the weekend, adding the caption “turning lemons into lemonade.” Surveillance footage showed Frank falling off a skateboard and landing hard on the edge of a sidewalk.

Despite the injury, Frank began composing music from his bed. “I think I’m gonna just sing whatever pops out, and I’m gonna build the chords around it,” he explained in a video posted to TikTok.

Within hours, he had written a new song centered on faith and resilience. The track includes the lyrics:
“God’s got my back/ Even when I fall or get attacked/ God’s got my back/ Even when I’m low and full of lack/ God’s got my back/ Even when my soul is full of sorrow/ I don’t have to worry about tomorrow.”

In a follow-up post, Frank revealed the accident happened while skateboarding with his 2-year-old son, Bodie. “It was just a casual session… so I didn’t even think to put a helmet on (hindsight is 20/20),” he wrote. “Thankful to God that it wasn’t any worse. Multiple fractures to L3 & L4. Will be laying in bed for a while… so sorry Grace,” he added, referring to his wife.

Frank said the new song had already gone viral, with hundreds of thousands of views and response videos within hours of its release. “God is clearly breathing on this one,” he said.

Additional lyrics in the song reflect Frank’s persistent faith in the face of physical suffering:
“Today is the day that the Lord has made/ Even with all of the bad in it.”
