Registration is open for a pan-denominational conference in Germany that organizers say will bring together Christians from across German-speaking Europe to pray, study Scripture, and strengthen the church's evangelistic witness.
JESUS27 is scheduled for April 8–10, 2027, at the Schönblick Christian Guest and Conference Center in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. The gathering expects around 900 participants from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, according to the organizers, who described the event as a gathering place for those longing for renewal of church and society through the power of the Gospel.
The conference is a follow-up to JESUS25, held in May 2025 at the Langensteinbacher Höhe in Karlsbad with roughly 600 attendees. Organizers told the German evangelical news agency IDEA that the first conference gave rise to a gathering point for people and initiatives longing for renewal through the Gospel.
'A growing longing'
The two lead organizers — Reinhard Spincke, Regional Secretary for the North Region of the Association of Free Evangelical Churches in Germany [Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden, FeG], and Markus Till, Deputy Chairman of Bible and Confession [Bibel und Bekenntnis] — say they are seeing a shift in the pews.
"We are witnessing in many congregations a growing longing for spiritual renewal, solid unity, and renewed evangelistic passion," Spincke and Till told IDEA. They are persuaded that genuine unity and a vibrant church grow "where Christ and his Word stand at the center."
The conference website names two pressures driving the gathering. First, previously shared theological convictions are being questioned even within free-church and evangelical circles, straining unity and weakening missionary momentum. Second, proclaiming the Gospel in a post-Christian society, the organizers say, requires entirely new competencies and ways of grounding Christian positions.
Program and leadership
The program features five plenary sessions and 24 topic-focused workshops covering questions of church, theology, and society, with time set aside for networking among participants.
The initiative is backed by a sponsoring council of more than 60 individuals and over 70 partner organizations from across the German-speaking world.
