The Dialogue and Christian Representation Roundtable of the Dominican Republic (La Mesa de Diálogo y Representación Cristiana de República Dominicana) has launched two ambitious research projects: a National Evangelical Survey and a National Evangelical Census, Evidencias Digital reported.
The announcement was made by Bishop Reynaldo Franco Aquino during the first meeting of the Board of Directors in 2026. He highlighted that the initiative aims to address a long-standing need for accurate information on the growth and composition of the country’s faith community.
The study will be conducted in partnership with the prestigious firm Gallup, ensuring methodological rigor and transparency in the results.
The main goal is to identify and quantify churches, ministries, and organizations, as well as to measure variables related to faith practice, leadership, and community engagement. The organization emphasized that these tools will help strengthen strategic planning within the church sector and its contribution to national well-being.
The Dialogue Table clarified that these measurement tools will provide up-to-date data on the realities and challenges facing the sector, ensuring that the results “will be available to the evangelical community, authorities, the academic sector, and society at large.” The aim is to foster an informed dialogue based on reliable statistics rather than perceptions alone.
Finally, Christian leaders emphasized the institutional nature of the initiative, stating that “these studies have no political or partisan purposes, but seek to promote the comprehensive development of the faith community.”
With this step, the Dominican church aims to professionalize its data management to better serve both the nation and its own congregations.
