  The intense floods affecting Spain have especially impacted the community of Valencia, where evangelical churches have requested prayer support to face the storm. As reported by Protestante Digital, the DANA phenomenon (isolated depression at high levels) has unleashed torrential rains, causing flooding in several areas of the city. Evangelical leaders expressed their concern, stressing the need for unity and prayer during this time.

  Salvation Army calls for more support after continuously high number of alcoholics deaths in Scotland

  The Salvation Army has called for specialist support for alcoholics in Scotland after figures showed 1,277 people died from alcohol related deaths last year, 2023. The National Records of Scotland released the figures last month, September, which showed an increase of one death compared to similar figures in 2023. Most of the deaths are men, with two-thirds accounted for.

  Nearly 60,000 people sign letter asking Keir Starmer to protect freedom of thought and prayer

  A letter asking the Prime Minister to act to protect freedom of thought and silent prayer has been signed nearly 60,000 times. The letter was launched by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF UK) which is supporting army veteran Adam Smith-Connor who was convicted last week of praying silently within an abortion clinic buffer zone in Bournemouth. He was ordered to pay £9,000 in costs.

  Calls for Archbishop of Canterbury to resign over gay sex comments

  There have been calls from evangelicals for the Archbishop of Canterbury to step down after he spoke in support of gay sex. Archbishop Justin Welby told former Labour spokesman Alistair Campbell, in his podcast The Rest is Politics, that his views on sexuality had evolved and that he now believes "that all sexual activity should be within a committed relationship and whether it's straight or gay".
