During the Carnival holiday, evangelical churches carried out missionary outreach in several cities across Brazil, seeking to preach the Gospel and proclaim the message of the Cross amid the country’s popular celebrations.
In São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and other cities, congregations organized evangelistic outreaches in streets, on beaches, and in public spaces. One church participated with what it called the “Blessed Batucada,” a percussion group that used samba rhythms to share the love of God and the message of salvation.
Volunteers approached attendees, offered prayer, and shared the Christian faith. In Ubatuba, for example, several people decided to follow Christ, and some were baptized in the sea during the outreach events.
The missionary organization Youth With A Mission also led initiatives in different cities, using creative evangelism, including theater, music, and street preaching. In addition, the group carried out acts of service, such as providing breakfast to sanitation workers and offering gestures of kindness to those participating in Carnival.
Meanwhile, in Belo Horizonte, hundreds of young Christians took to the streets to preach and pray during the festivities. At one point, participants knelt in public areas and prayed for a spiritual awakening in the city.
The outreach was part of a congress organized by the Eighth Presbyterian Church and brought together young people who walked through the city with preaching, worship, and times of intercession. In one of the most visible moments, they declared, “The key to this city is in the hands of Jesus.”
Pastor Israel Abreu led prayers for the city, while other leaders preached the Gospel and invited people to come to Christ. Sign language interpreters, families, children, and older adults also participated in the evangelistic efforts.
The outreach included praying for passersby, police officers, and workers, as well as engaging in personal conversations with young people to share their faith. Participants said their goal was to bring hope and proclaim Jesus in the midst of the festive Carnival atmosphere.
These initiatives reflect the work of evangelical churches in Brazil during the celebration, as believers went out to proclaim Christ in public spaces—combining evangelism, prayer, and social outreach in cities across the country.
