As global Christianity continues to shift toward the Global South and new voices reshape the conversation, Christian Daily International closed 2025 with expanded international coverage, a growing editorial team and increased recognition across Christian and secular media — while setting its sights on further growth in the year ahead.

The past year marked a series of milestones for the publication, including the launch of its French-language edition, Le Quotidien Chrétien, making it the outlet’s third language after the main edition in English and Diario Cristiano in Spanish. The expansion reflected CDI’s stated aim to serve a broader global readership and amplify Christian perspectives across linguistic and cultural boundaries.

During 2025, CDI also continued to grow its editorial team, strengthening on-the-ground reporting capacity across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. This expansion enabled more in-depth coverage of regional developments often underreported in global Christian media.

One of the year’s standout examples was CDI’s reporting from India, the world’s most populous country and home to a rapidly growing Christian population. Coverage included extensive reporting from the All India Congress on Church in Mission (AICOCIM), elevating local Christian voices and providing international readers with deeper insight into the challenges and opportunities facing the Church in the region. It was one of many key events that CDI covered onsite in 2025.

The publication has increasingly been cited by Christian and secular media outlets around the world, in multiple languages, reinforcing its position as a trusted source of professional, fact-based reporting within the global Christian media landscape.

CDI also expanded its opinion and analysis offerings in 2025, publishing a growing number of exclusive op-eds on issues ranging from artificial intelligence and missions to social and ethical challenges facing churches worldwide.

The outlet’s work was recognized twice by the Evangelical Press Association. In May, CDI received a second-place Award of Excellence, with one judge noting, “Christian Daily International truly offers a global view of the global Christian Church. The impressive range of articles and content serves a broad spectrum of readership. Its emphasis on trustworthy news is excellent.” In October, CDI received a third-place Best in Class award, with judges commending it as “a great place to get a broad sense of what’s happening in the worldwide Church.”

Among the year’s most-read articles was coverage of American comedian and commentator Bill Maher drawing attention to the media silence on the genocide of Christians in Nigeria. CDI continued detailed reporting throughout 2025 on persecution incidents in Nigeria and other countries, alongside analysis and opinion pieces aimed at helping readers understand conditions on the ground.

Pakistan was another country of sustained focus, as CDI reported both on continued pressure facing Christian communities and on recent developments that have raised cautious hope for change.

Alongside editorial growth, CDI reported increases in audience reach and social media engagement during the year. Coverage continued to prioritize major global and regional Christian gatherings and developments, particularly as leadership, innovation and theological reflection increasingly emerge from the Global South.

The publication also deepened collaboration within the Christian media ecosystem through both formal and informal partnerships. In Latin America, CDI’s regional editor joined the board of COICOM, a Latin American network for Christian communicators.

Earlier this month, on Dec. 12, Christian Daily International marked its second anniversary since launching in 2023.

“We are delighted to have reached the second anniversary of CDI,” said Gordon Showell-Rogers, CDI’s international director. “We’re encouraged by the breadth of our principled, accurate and factual reporting, alongside a wide range of opinion pieces and book reviews. Our aim has always been to help Christians globally to think and to read.”

Showell-Rogers said the outlet’s growth into three languages and its expanded international reporting had taken place without charging readers, an approach he described as central to CDI’s mission.

“We have reported from all over the world, both on Christian news and on wider news from a Christian perspective, as biblically, factually and personally as we know how,” he said. “We’re grateful for our growing audiences and for the fact that we are increasingly being recognized and quoted by other news outlets as a reliable source of global news.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Showell-Rogers said CDI plans to continue expanding its reach, including the launch of its first podcast, efforts to engage younger audiences, the addition of further languages and deeper coverage in regions where reporting remains limited.

“We’re grateful for the mercy and goodness of God in bringing us this far, so rapidly,” he said. “As we plan further growth in 2026, we thank our readers and supporters for walking with us on this journey.”
