The Swiss Evangelical Alliance has joined Kanzel24.org, a shared online platform operated by the Evangelical Alliances in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that connects churches and Christian organizations with pastors, preachers, moderators and conference speakers across the German-speaking region of Europe.

The Swiss alliance announced its participation in the project through a press release, citing growing staffing pressures and increasing difficulty for churches in finding guest speakers and ministry personnel for events and worship services.

Kanzel24.org allows churches, ministries and event organizers to search for speakers by name, region or topic and contact them directly. According to the project website, services listed on the platform include sermons, lectures, workshops, moderation, interviews and seminar leadership.

The platform was initially established by the Evangelical Alliance in Germany and now operates jointly with the Evangelical Alliances in Austria and Switzerland. The organizations say the project is intended to support cooperation between churches and ministries across national borders in the German-speaking world.

In Switzerland, the project is also being developed in partnership with the International Seminary of Theology and Leadership, or ISTL. The seminary’s existing speaker platform, Preacher.ch, will be integrated into Kanzel24.org.

Andi Bachmann-Roth, co-general secretary of the Swiss Evangelical Alliance, said external speakers can contribute more than temporary coverage during vacation periods.

“Thanks to their specific expertise and complementary perspectives, they can greatly enrich churches,” Bachmann-Roth said in the statement.

He added that the alliance’s shared doctrinal basis provides “a level of doctrinal quality assurance” for participating speakers.

According to the alliance, all pastors and speakers registered on the platform must affirm the statement of faith of either the Swiss Evangelical Alliance or the Evangelical Alliance in Germany.

The service is free for both churches and speakers, the organizations said.
