YouVersion will host a global livestream on Monday night, Nov. 17, to mark the milestone of one billion installs across its family of Bible apps. The event, “Beyond A Billion: A Night to Celebrate the Bible,” is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CST (UTC-6) and serves as the central event of Global Bible Month, a monthlong initiative launched by YouVersion to encourage worldwide reflection on the Bible’s influence and ongoing use.
The livestream, broadcast from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, features an international lineup of worship leaders and communicators, including Lauren Daigle, CeCe Winans, Phil Wickham, Brooke Ligertwood, Matt Redman, Christine Caine, Craig Groeschel, Kari Jobe, and Cody Carnes, among others. Organizers say the evening is designed as a worldwide moment of worship and gratitude, highlighting Scripture’s enduring influence and the growing role of technology in helping people engage with the Bible.
“This milestone is really a celebration of the Bible itself and what happens when people around the world work together to get it into the hands and hearts of more people,” said Bobby Gruenewald, YouVersion’s founder and CEO. “We’re seeing incredible global momentum around Bible engagement, and it’s humbling to be part of what’s happening.”
The celebration comes during what YouVersion calls a record-breaking year for Bible engagement. According to the organization, global app installs have increased more than 12% compared to last year, while daily usage has risen by 18%. Across its family of apps—including the Bible App, Bible App for Kids, and Bible Lens—users collectively open Scripture one billion times every 39 days.
Since releasing its first mobile Bible App in 2008, YouVersion has expanded to include more than 3,600 Bible translations in over 2,300 languages, making Scripture accessible to communities often overlooked in traditional publishing. The platform partners with over 31,000 churches, ministries, publishers, and content creators, including more than 7,200 content partners and 25,000 churches worldwide.
The UK is among the regions experiencing notable growth. More than 17.7 million installations have taken place across the United Kingdom alone, a trend local Christian leaders attribute to an increased hunger for Scripture among young people. “There is a surprising growth in church attendance, particularly among young people,” said Stephen Foster, Rector of St Aldate’s Church in Oxford. “It’s exciting to witness communities across Britain rediscovering the transformative power of Scripture in their daily lives.”
The livestream is also the highlight of Global Bible Month, a worldwide campaign launched in partnership with Christian organizations such as Glorify, Hallow, and The Bible Project. The initiative seeks to elevate the Bible’s role in public life and encourage daily Scripture reading through a 30-Day Bible Challenge. The challenge invites participants to engage with the Bible each day in November, whether digitally through YouVersion or with a printed copy.
“In a world where everyone’s searching for what’s real and true, we’ve seen one thing consistently transform lives, and that’s daily engagement with Scripture,” Gruenewald said. “This November, we’re simply inviting people to try something different: read the Bible for 30 days and see what happens.”
Monday’s celebration will also spotlight stories of individuals and communities whose lives have been changed through the Bible, along with a vision for expanding Bible access to every corner of the world. It serves as both a milestone celebration and a call to extend the reach of Scripture into new languages and platforms.
The livestream is accessible globally through the YouVersion Bible App and affiliated channels. Users can join beginning at 6:30 p.m. CST, with the program starting at 7 p.m.
